You've made the commitment to raise awareness and promote health equity for racial and ethnic minorities. This year’s Minority Health Month events offer the opportunity to help build consensus around what you already know: “Health Equity Can’t Wait.” Use this April “Act Now in Your CommUNITY!” and seize the opportunity to create even greater awareness, as you launch a call to action. Make Minority Health Month historic in your CommUNITY, as you attend or organize events or just lend your expertise. Whatever you decide to do, take the month to "Act Now!"
Health Equity Day of UNITY
A person's health is based on more than just the ability to go to the doctor, what they eat or where they live. When it comes to health, multiple factors play a role. Everyone plays a part in the health of Americans. Attend the Equity Day of UNITY Town Hall in your commUNITY, where speakers will showcase this fact. Take part in the idea exchange with health professionals, community organizers, government representatives and your neighbors and offer your hard-won insights to promote health equity and issue a call to action. Health Equity Day of Action
Participate in and support your community Health Equity Day of Action. Health disparities among racial and ethnic minorities are a serious issue and each Health Equity Day of Action is intended to raise awareness and promote health equity in an interactive environment with compelling and knowledgeable speakers and practical activities that meet daily health needs. Organize a Lunch and Learn in your company/organization
Awareness can be contagious. Considering spreading the word right where you are by organizing a ‘Lunch and Learn’ in your company or organization. Break bread and then break the norms of overlooking and not being aware of health disparities. But be warned, once you start, people may want to know more.
