HRAC held Town Hall type meetings in August 2008 at the Annual Native Health Research Conference and September 2008 at the National Indian Health Board Annual Consumer Conference.

Outreach in 2009 included the OMH National Leadership Summit, IHS/Health Canada Maternal and Child Health Research Meeting, 11th Annual HHS Tribal Budget and Policy Consultation, and Indian Health Summit.
During the summer of 2009, HRAC prepared and submitted HRAC Recommendations for Comparative Effectiveness Research, HHS Recommendations to the Secretary, and comments to the Joint Commission on cultural competence requirements for hospital accreditation.
The First Annual HRAC Report was produced and includes a chronological account of events that led to the Council’s creation and continues through Fiscal Year 2009 activities. The report also includes recommendations the Council has made regarding relevant American Indian and Alaska Native health and research topics.
During Fiscal Year 2009, the HRAC also produced an Annual Health Research Report which represents a compilation of findings related to important health research topics in American Indian and Alaska Native (AI/AN) communities. The HRAC produced this report as a resource to share research findings with Tribes. It includes relevant submissions from various HHS operating and staff divisions, as well as HHS grantees
