Now Showing: Historic Exhibit on Health, Race and Place in America

Health is a Human RightThis poignant exhibit chronicles over a century of efforts to achieve health equity for Americans of all races and ethnic groups. Health is a Human Right: Race and Place in America – on display at the David J. Sencer CDC Museum in Washington, DC, through February 2014 – features historic photographs and documents, and interactive atlases that demonstrate just how important “race and place” are in predicting the health of minorities across the U.S. Telemundo featured the exhibit opening in a recent story (watch the news clip in Spanish). National Cancer Institute Launches New Quit Smoking Website in Spanish

Roughly 5 million Hispanic Americans smoke, and lung cancer is the leading cause of cancer deaths among Hispanic men and second leading cause among Hispanic women. To address this important public health issue, the National Cancer Institute developed, a website created specifically for Spanish speakers who want to quit smoking or know someone who does. Resources include interactive checklists and quizzes, advice on how to help a loved one quit , and real-time support and information through Twitter Exit Disclaimer and Pinterest Exit Disclaimer.

The Knowledge Center provides you valuable information about the Affordable Care Act. Discover how health care reform applies to you.
