Historically, the highest rates for Hepatitis A occurred among American Indian/Alaska Natives. However rates which were over 60 cases per 100,000 before 1995, have decreased dramatically, and now are lower as compared to all other ethnic groups1.
- In 2010, American Indian/Alaska Natives were 2.8 times as likely to develop a case of Hepatitis C, as compared to the White population.
- In 2008, American Indian/Alaska Natives ages 40 years and over, were 2.5 times more likely to have Hepatitis B, than non-Hispanic Whites.
- American Indian/Alaska Native women are 2.6 times as likely to die from viral hepatitis, as compared to Non-Hispanic Whites.
