Grant period: 2018-2021
The Empowered Communities for a Healthier Nation Initiative seeks to reduce significant health disparities impacting racial and ethnic minorities and/or disadvantaged populations through implementing evidence-based strategies with the greatest potential for impact. The program is intended to serve residents in communities disproportionately impacted by the opioid epidemic.
The FY 2018 Empowered Communities Initiative projects begin September 2018 and end June 2021.

The Lupus Program aims to eliminate health disparities among racial and ethnic minority populations and disadvantaged populations disproportionately affected by lupus and improve the participation of minority populations in clinical trials.
OMH expects the National Lupus Training, Outreach and Clinical Trial Education Program (Lupus Program) will accomplish the following two goals:
