Dr. Veronica G. Parker is an Alumni Distinguished Professor at Clemson University, College of Behavioral, Social and Health Sciences, School of Nursing. She is also the Director of the Center for Research on Health Disparities at Clemson University. She earned a Ph.D. in biostatistics from the Medical University of South Carolina in 1994. Dr. Parker received a B.S. in engineering analysis (concentration in bioengineering) from Clemson University in 1986. She also received a B.S. in physics-engineering from the College of Charleston in 1984. She is currently a member of Clemson University’s President Leadership Institute.

Dr. Parker teaches in the undergraduate and graduate programs at Clemson, in the disciplines of nursing research, clinical epidemiology, and research analysis (statistics). She has consulting experience in categorical data analysis, path analyses, statistical analysis of survey data, analysis of data concerning caregiver burden and dementia of elderly patients, and chronic disease registry data analysis, among others. Dr. Parker’s current research interests include health disparities/health equity, quality of life and well-being, resilience, obesity, spirituality, and health risk behaviors.
